I am Tatum Leigh Robinson.
I was born in South Africa, the rainbow nation, in 1979. I have worn my traveling shoes for most of my life. I am a full-time artist, illustrator & all-round life enthusiast!
I studied Fine Art & English Literature at university, majoring in printmaking and drawing. After my studies, the universe guided me in an unexpected direction and I became a kindergarten teacher and director for 6 years. This gave me the opportunity to express my creativity with a focus on education and early childhood development. I had the opportunity to produce a number of children’s musicals as well as illustrated stories and educational materials. I LOVED it and during this time, the illustration seed was firmly planted.
With an urge for adventure, I said goodbye to my kindergarten world at the ripe old age of 30. I had no clear direction but I had a strong, creative fire in my belly. So the universe did it’s dance and I promptly found and fell in love with my soulmate. Together, we put on our adventure hats and moved to South Korea to teach English!
After 3 glorious years living with the love of my life on Jeju Island, South Korea (and a 4 month adventure in India) I have returned to South Africa to get serious about this art & illustration business! I am now spending my time fully embracing my creative juiciness. I am developing myself as an illustrator, artist, writer and general life enthusiast.
What does that mean? Well, I am trying to find ways to be a proactive, conscious, compassionate CREATIVE human being who contributes to making this world a better place.
This website is a profile of my creative expression, in it’s many different forms. It is also an expression of my journey, which I share in regular, bit sized chunks on my blog. My life is a big, colourful, ever evolving canvas. So stay tuned, because there is so much more to come…
